• Modernized a 40,000 line RTM code base to take advantage of newer hardware and operating systems.
• Modified the build scripts to run on newer versions of Linux, as well as other platforms, such as POWER8.
• Used parallelization and vectorization techniques to improve performance by more than a factor of two.

• Developed the main engine for a WirelessHART gateway achieving performance over 10X faster than the existing solution.
• Also created a backend for a web-based WirelessHART network simulator. This included a physics engine to predict the effects of obstacles on radio wave signals

Contracted by Emerson Process Management/ Rosemont

• Implemented a proprietary algorithm that removes turbulence (air, radiated heat, etc.) from a video in real time.
• The necessary performance was achieved by successfully parallelizing the algorithm in a non-trivial manner.

Contracted by Lockheed Martin

• Consulted withresearchers on best methods to parallelize and optimize an in-house Lattice Boltzmann method-based CFD simulation.
• Helped researchers improve the performance of their algorithm by a factor of 26, allowing jobs that would previously take weeks to finish in hours.
